Thank you for your support of Evergreen Foundation! Your donation will help us improve services to adults and children dealing with mental health, substance abuse, and developmental delay issues. You are partnering with us to assist those in need in our communities to have healthy, contributing lives.
While the Evergreen Foundation has been in existence for more than 30 years working to support fragile populations seeking services in our seven counties, we have been providing grants for a far shorter time. Yet we are seeing the incredible impact financial support of organizations can have. Our goal is to grow our capacity to provide funding to organizations working to provide support to those with mental health issue, substance abuse disorders, or developmental delays. In this current environment, more and more people are turning to local organizations for help. We are committed to assisting those organizations in ensuring our most fragile populations have what they need to live productive lives in our communities.
An important part of our work is building a permanent collection of funds for our community. Our Board of Directors ensures that these funds will grow in perpetuity and will continue to carry out the charitable objectives of the foundation.
As our partner in giving, you receive the tax advantages, personal recognition, involvement and flexibility of a private foundation. There are many ways to give!
A check is an easy and convenient way to support worthy causes in our western counties.
Securities that can be accepted include publicly traded stocks and bonds, closely-held stock, restricted stock, partnership interests (including family limited partnerships), and mutual funds.
The Community Foundation can accept personal residences, farms, commercial buildings, and undeveloped land.
Bequests are one of the easiest ways to give because donors retain complete control over the assets during their lifetime. Bequests can be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of the estate, or the residual that remains after all other bequests are made.
Individual Retirement Accounts & Retirement Plans
Donors may designate the Evergreen Foundation as the beneficiary of IRAs and retirement plans. These assets are some of the best to leave to charity because there is no estate tax or income tax due as the gift will qualify for a charitable deduction.
Life Insurance Policy
Life insurance provides a simple way to provide a significant gift to charity. The donor can make the Evergreen Foundation the owner and irrevocable beneficiary of a life insurance policy. This can either be a paid up policy or one for which the donor continues to pay premiums. The donor receives a tax deduction for the approximate cost or fair market value, whichever is less. If the policy is paid up, the donor may receive an immediate tax deduction. If not, continuing tax deductions on premium payments can be claimed for premium payments made through gifts to the Evergreen Foundation.
